Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
The recent confirmation of Judge Amy Honey Barrett has brought about several debates. There are people on both sides of the aisle that disagree with her confirmation. Why is this so important that we have the right judge in our judicial system? Because they are responsible for the law of the land. Laws that may affect everyone’s; Nevertheless, Children of God can avoid the law that conflicts with God’s ways. Yes, we must obey every direction, but if the law asks us to disobey God, we must put God first. The reason is simple; God would not give us rules that would contradict Himself. Therefore, a law that said lesbian or gay marriage is legal is not a law that would apply to God’s children because God specifies that it is against the world’s unnatural order. This law is just one example of a law that Christians would not obey.
The Bible tells us to obey all authorities because they all come from God. Saying the rules come from God when we are watching; the leaders select them is hard to understand. Unlike Biblical times where leaders choose to pray over, today, we decided by voting. However, even when it’s only human intervention, such as voting, God is fully involved. Therefore, is imperatives that we pray for those who are creating the law, pray the God hands will be involved in the pray, pray for those in the law's seat will have sound wisdom and understanding not only of the law but also of the people they are writing the regulations. Prayer is the ingredient to allow us to have a lawful nation, one under God.
So which law should Christians obey? I would say the law that has good morals attached to them. How do you determine what right or wrong law to follow? We listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit will guide us unto all truth. Are you aware of any law that contradicts the way of God, if so write these down and pray for God to change these laws? Like Christ, Jesus said, with God, all things are possible.
